January 1 marks more than just the start of a new year—it marks the beginning of something we’ve been building together for a long time.

As we welcome 2026, we’re thrilled to officially step into the founding year of the first annual Westside Comic Con. This isn’t just a new event on the calendar. It’s the start of a community-driven tradition rooted right here in Washington County.

Building Something Together

Westside Comic Con was created with a simple but powerful idea:

community comes first.

Comics, graphic novels, gaming, cosplay, and fandom have always been about connection—sharing stories, creativity, and imagination across generations and backgrounds. Our goal is to create a space where artists, writers, gamers, vendors, families, and fans all feel welcome, supported, and inspired.

As a nonprofit organization, Westside Comic Con exists not just to host an event, but to:

• Celebrate creativity and popular arts

• Support local artists, small businesses, and creators

• Foster inclusive spaces for fans of all ages

• Build lasting partnerships that strengthen our regional arts community

A First-Year Milestone

Launching a first-year convention is no small feat, and we wouldn’t be here without the enthusiasm, encouragement, and belief from so many of you—creators who’ve said “yes,” volunteers who’ve raised their hands, partners who’ve shared our vision, and fans who’ve cheered us on from day one.

On May 23–24, 2026, we’ll gather at the Wingspan Event & Conference Center in Hillsboro to bring this vision to life. But in many ways, the work—and the excitement—starts now.
